Pegasys, Inc.'s TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress with Leadtek SpursEngine Hardware accelerator
MPEG-2/MPEG-4 hardware accelerator
TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress is a video encoder application along the lines of Sorenson Squeeze, Apple's Compressor, and Adobe's Media Encoder. It has been around for quite a while, but doesn't seem to get the press that the other tools get, despite the output quality being very good. The application offers support for NVIDIA's CUDA technology as well as Leadtek's SpursEngine hardware accelerator.

Dressed in brilliant red and vibrant white body suits, five Momix dancers fold, unfold and refold themselves into a swirl of origami-like patterns in "Art Expands (:60)," motion designer Eyeball's third inspired project for Target's "Art for All" video installation series, which is displayed on giant LED screens outside the Staples Center, in downtown Los Angeles.

Sony Vegas Pro Split Screen Previews
There's a handy feature lurking inside your Sony Vegas Pro Video Preview Monitor that can help you work smarter
Every software application seems to have at least one tool that is both a blessing and curse. For many NLEs it's a ripple edit mode that is one part super-terrific and other part the dastardly evil-doer that wreaks havoc on your timeline.

In this clip, host Faraz Ahmed covers the Edit Media Tab in Tricaster Studio. The Edit Media Tab is a full featured non linear editor. It completes the Tricaster Studio, making it a true studio in a box. He goes over the features of the Edit Media Tab, which is great to make intros that you'll play in the Live Production Mode, or you've taken something from the Live Production mode that you've put together and want to make some tweaks to it.
