3ality Digital to Showcase Integration of Visual Effects and Live-Action 3D at SIGGRAPH 2009

At the SIGGRAPH 2009 show in New Orleans, 3ality Digital will show the integration of CG special effects with live action 3D with the presentation of footage from NBC's "Chuck vs. The Third Dimension,"what the company says is the first episode of a scripted television show captured in live action digital 3D. The screening will take place Thursday August 6 (6:30 - 9 p.m., Room 260) and Friday August 7 (10 - 11:30 a.m., Room 271).

At SIGGRAPH 2009, the Elemental Accelerator 2.0 plug-in for NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards can be seen at PNY Booth #2017. It was also announced that Hewlett Packard's HP Z workstations have been outfitted with the CUDA based plug-in to enhance and speed up processes in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

Graphics cards play a central role in the creation of animation and special effects that artists see annually at the SIGGRAPH show (in New Orleans this year) and what consumers seem to desire more of in their daily exposure to digital entertainment, be it via the movies, video games, ride simulators, even TV. Over the last several years, artists have been pushing the envelope in what they can create with the tools that are available to them.
