Exclusive interview with Digital Media Net At the annual NAB convention earlier this month, David Krall, President and CEO of Avid Technology sat down for an exclusive chat with DMN's Charlie White. In his candid remarks, Krall explains what makes Avid's DNA product line unique, talks about the scramble to teach Avid's sales and support staff about the new top-secret systems in record time, and points out compelling reasons for using his new acceleration hardware when dealing with the large amounts of 10-bit data that are becoming commonplace in the world of digital video editing and compositing. Company President and CEO says Media 100's 844X is a different animal from Avid's new DNA family At NAB 2003, DMN's Charlie White caught up with John Molinari, Media 100's charismatic President and CEO. Molinari described the latest innovations of the company's compositing and editing system, 844X. He also had candid comments on Avid's new DNA architecture and gave us a hint of what's to come for his Marlboro, Massachusetts-based company that's been a big part of the digital video editing scene for the past decade.
Co-Founder Ajay Chopra and CTO Al Kovalick in an exclusive interview with DMN At the NAB convention earlier this month, DMN's Charlie White had a wide-ranging discussion with Ajay Chopra, Pinnacle Systems Co-founder and President, Broadcast & Professional Division; and also Al Kovalick, Chief Technical Officer of the Broadcast Solutions Division at Pinnacle. In this first of a multi-part series, Chopra and Kovalick talk about Pinnacle's new server products and their interaction with each other. The watchword at Pinnacle this year is "workflow." Importing image sequences The easiest way to transfer files between systems is through image sequences. As codecs have become more universal, and being able to read files cross platform is nearly commonplace, the need for image sequences has greatly decreased. However, there are times when image sequences are the only available option for your system. Unfortunately, while Final Cut Pro 3.0 does allow you to import nearly every type of file including stills, there is not a built in “Import Image Sequence” feature. In this Quick Tip, I’ll show you two methods to import image sequences into Final Cut Pro 3.0. |
