Phoenix rises from the ashes, soars with the eagles A few months ago, DMN's Charlie White gave Pinnacle Edition a decidedly negative review here on Digital Media Net. But it did have one major strength: Background rendering. Wait 'til you see what Pinnacle's done with that feature, making the next incarnation of Edition, version 5, one to watch. Will White reconsider? Here's a first look. Sharp new Mac OS X version of Symphony gets a 10 "What are your plans for OS X?," Digital Media Net's Charlie White asked Avid officials at their annual NAB party two years ago. "Whoever does something first doesn't always do it best," was the non-answer. Now, two years later, Avid attempts to show what they meant by that cryptic remark, releasing all its Mac-based nonlinear editors running on Mac OS X in one big day. DVD series reviewed I spent the last week and a half watching every minute of the new Total Training DVD series that covers Adobe After Effects 5.5. Why a week and a half? It is over 40 hours of material! What are my thoughts on this new offering? Well, it depends on who you are. Part 2: Faking it In the last installment, we looked at how image sequences can be generated when the images themselves wont import into After Effects so we could create a rotating sun. While the solution worked, there was still the problem of being able to composite the footage over other layers. In this After Effects Production Bundle tutorial, Ill show you how to take care of the corona issue as well as create your own Sun from scratch. |
