![]() The birth of the digital video camera with FireWire about seven years ago has brought about a profound shift in how video is acquired and transferred into the digital domain for editing. Before FireWire, users who wished to edit video on a computer had to plug in a capture card (M-JPEG being the most popular) and pray that everything would work. If things did, you'd be able to capture some decent video that could be edited in a non-linear editing application and later output to tape for playback. Overflowing with more Photoshop Style Layers to produce effects quickly In series 7 of my Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer tutorials, I have created another 3 effects that you can implement into your Style Layers palette to give your designs or text elements a new look quick and easy. The three effects are named “Mystery”, “Mystic” and “Stone Age.” These Style Layers will work well with either objects or text as the examples display. Detailed instructions have been added to help the user install and implement the Style Layers into their next Photoshop project. Have fun and enjoy the effects!
Animating garbage masks in Adobe After Effects When keying footage there will be times when you have a poorly lit set, imperfections in the background, etc. and you only really need to key that area immediately around the foreground subject. During these times you would use a garbage mask to isolate the foreground element and get rid of any background crud. But what happens if you need to animate the mask? Adding a new twist to logo treatment As a motion graphic artist, a company looking to have their logo animated for video and film work has probably approached you. There are literally hundreds of ways to approach this task. In this After Effects Production Bundle exercise, we’ll use fractal noise and ramp effects, along with a Track Matte to make the company’s logo go up in smoke. |
